  • Intelligent design is not science. Why should it be in a scientific curriculum? "Science" means that something is based on observation and hypothesis-testing. Intelligent design is based on a presupposition and not testable. If anything, it's philosophy. Teach it in philosophy class.

  • I am unsure as to why anyone would insist that anything in the universe has been intelligently designed. If there's a designer at all, it's the most random designer ever.

  • Scrapie. Scabies is an insect disease affecting the skin. Scrapie is called that for the bizzare head scraping behaviour of affected sheep. Prion diseases are pretty damn scary. (Kuru, Creutzfeldt-Jacob and CJ variant are all prion diseases.)

  • This is yet another 'roll' in society's fear of fat. What have we come to, when the weight of a group of humans that are expected to be chubby and have natural rolls of fat is airbrushed into unnatural portrayals of slenderness? Babies are supposed to have rolls. They are supposed to be chubby.
